English Debating Team – 4th International Parliamentary Debate Competition Awards
Po Leung Kuk Ngan Po Ling College is proud to announce that our English Debating team has recently won multiple awards in the 4th Annual International Parliamentary Debate Competition (IPDC). The IPDC is an international debate competition that involves delegates from all over the world. Our students competed among 138 secondary students from Hong Kong, China, Macau, Singapore, Korea, Japan, The Philippines and Lebanon. The Judging Panel included representatives from Law Firms Ince, Deacons, Pinsent Masons and Temple Chamber. The Global Judging Panel consisted of debate winners and champions from The United Kingdom and The United States.
We are pleased to announce that two of our students took home the following achievements:
- Speaker Award in the Upper Secondary Division (5IB 01 Au Hoi Yiu Charlotte)
- Speaker Award in the Upper Secondary Division (5IB 15 Sayed Nashitah Tasnin)
- Best Motion Award along (4E 22 Seu Kin Long Edgar)
Through this competition, our students were able to showcase their skills to a wide global audience and gain valuable skills such as communication skills, research, teamwork and how to speak confidently. We hope to participate in similar ventures in the future where our team will continue to strive for excellence.
